Rochester, Mn. was where it all started! In 1984 Joan saw an ad in the Rochester paper for a lead singer and decided to follow through with it after admiring bands for years!

Phoenix played hard rock music that included Kiss, Journey, Cheap Trick, Aerosmith, Van halen, etc. We had a great song list and the group was high energy. We later added an additional guitarist whose name was Herbert Martin Stellner III who was great fun to work with. He had a fushia and bright yellow guitar and would leap off the stage into the crowd quite frequently.

Although this band never made any money we sure had a lot of fun! We played "Dooley's" in Rochester and "The Outrigger" in Rochester and also a few outdoor gigs. We actually practiced more than we played out! The band broke up in early 1984 and two weeks later I joined the band "Crosswind". The rest is history.....
